With a fabric mix looming tantalisingly on the horizon, Berlin based artist Sam Shackleton launches his new Woe To The Septic Heart! imprint with a brace of new productions. Sprawled across the A Side is "Man On A String" (part 1 & 2), a rich percussive jaunt with heavy African tribalisms. As you'd expect from Shackleton, the sonic textures are rich and intriguing, with wooden percussion rolling in and out of the track, indecipherable vocal snippets, wood pipes and a broken bassline. Flip over for "Bastard Spirit", which is in possession of a droning bassline that'll probably shatter a few windows when played on beefy soundsystems. Killer artwork from Zeke Clough too.
