The work of one Vic Margevich, an ex-pat Russian Londoner, this boasts three self-produced tech killers, self-released on his own label Tektone. "Magic Forest" provides the whole of the first side and will sit perfectly in the hard-driving minimal techno continuum. Slashed with dub, but not too reverb laden - the title tune possesses significant momentum and yet a sense of true dancefloor drama is never lost. We're always suckers for the really heavy bass, and half way through this track simply catches light - blurty, dangerous low end dominating proceedings. "Plasma Donor" brings some well disposed melodic lightness to a similarly heavy rhythm and a mighty jack-fest ensues. "Council Blue" offers some further harmony and light amongst the deadly rhythms, and with more releases on the way we're sure you should hear much more of Vic.
