Through his releases on Chopshop Music, DJ Butcher has proved to be a skilful practitioner when it comes to the party-starting end of disco edits and reworks. While he rarely resorts to cheap tricks or less than subtle percussion, his edits and re-cuts have a fun, effervescent quality that's sometimes at odds with current trends. This latest EP for Master Press offers more of the same joyous, fuss-free fodder with a cheeky glint in the eye. Lead cut "Love It" - a combination of samples from two or three jangly, summertime disco hits - is arguably the pick, though the squeezable electrofunk jams "Chinga" and "Get Down" are not far behind.
