The illicit, underground Loft Classics series continues to provide CD DJs and disco-minded listeners with an easy way of getting hold of tracks championed by David Mancuso at his legendary loft parties in NYC. This fifth volume unearths another eight tracks in full-length format, contrasting familiar-ish favourites - B52s' "Mesopotamia", The Strikers' "Body Music", the much-covered "Could Heaven Ever Be Like This" - with lesser-known gems. Of these, Mike Parras' early deep house classic "Beginning Of Life" and Ramona Brooks' delightful space boogie number "I Don't Want You Back" are particularly noteworthy. Essential stuff, all told.
