"Point Of No Return" |
Killawatt hasn't missed a rim shot since his very first release. And it seems he's passing on his sub-low wisdom to the relatively new face Thelem. Both cuts come with a serious twang of techno thanks to some inspired loop work and complex rhythms. "Kaba" is the trooper of the two with a steady steppy drum pattern and a hypnotic loop that feeds back and eats itself with glee. "Point Of No Return" is the real prize fighter, though; it's all about the deep, thudding tribalism and very little else. Great fun to mix creatively and will make one devious set opener. Pure, dark and distinctive. Blackbox are on fire right now.
