The ever-growing ManMakeMusic stable welcomes a fresh talent in the shape of a debut release from Trikk, a Portuguese producer who specializes in just the kind of wistful house music that the label reach for. "Jointly" hits hard with its insistent jack, but the ruffness of the rhythm section gets offset nicely by the lush synth lines. "I Fall Down" captures something of the vibe of Martyn's ubiquitous remix of TRG gave off; a yearning melody loaded with melancholy that can't fail to tug at your heartstrings. For a debut release it's hard to imagine this 12" not getting snapped up by all and sundry in the contemporary house milieu.
