With their Invisible City Editions label, Toronto pair Brandon Hocura and Gary Abugan continue to show how reissues should be done resurrecting not only the music, but the context behind it and the cultural climate that created it. Their seventh release is perhaps their most curious so far, pairing some amazingly ahead of it's time dubbed out disco boogie by Jeancy with two spoken word songs by Hawaiian artist Astarius. Up top "U Turn Me On" by Haitian Canadian artist Jeancy derives from 1983 and is some 10 minutes of 808 driven dub disco boogie that you will want to play out as soon as that bassline hits your ears. The B side from Astarius is altogether more curious with "Ancient Times 1" and "Ancient Times 2" hypnotic spoken word mantras that are clearly ripe for sampling!
