Jamie Woon, a 23-year-old modernist soul talent, is fast getting a reputation for melting rooms with his unique voice, acoustic guitar and Loopstation. Jamie's hypnotic, all-vocal interpretation of lost-in-time folksong "Warfaring Stranger" gives a nod to the past, and a funked-up wave to the future. Dubstep hotshot Burial steps up with a beautifully dark and evocative remix. Shaped by old soul and folk as much as electronica, Woon draws on influences as diverse as Prince and Thom Yorke. He has established a massive live reputation through his own monthly event, OneTaste, and tireless gigging around the country. There is real depth to his voice, equally at home singing acappella as it is bolstered by the latest street soul production as heard on the Stitch remix.
