The ever mysterious Italojohnson returns with a third EP of untitled studio jams, with a distinctly Musiq Box flavour to the three tracks here. Readily admitting to wearing his influences on his figurative sleeve - you kind of imagine Johnson to rock the vest look - the A Side hogger delights in particular, a bottom heavy track filled with raw yet crisp layers of percussion and drum machine fills with a vocal "Fantasize Me" sample that begins deep in the mix before rising to prominence. On the flip, the pressurised industrial locked groove of the opening track is soon overcome by a brilliantly twisting acid melody whilst the final track impresses the most with a vintage yet menacing electro pose; all crisp 808 kicks, thudding bass hits and hushed vocoderisms the prelude to some excellently tinny synth patterns.
