The questionably Uruguayan imprint International Feel have enjoyed a fine year with everyone from cryptic bloggers 20 jazz funk greats to DJing deity Erol Alkan finding joy in releases from Coyote, Rocha, Hungry Ghost and DJ Harvey's Locussolus Project. The label signs off 2010 in fine style with this deluxe CD compilation that contains a selection of the most prized tracks from the vinyl releases to date, as well as a smattering of unreleased glee. The gentle piano led tones of "The Struggle" by Maxxi & Zeus sets the mood, but it's the first exclusive track that grabs your attention. The After The Deluge mix of Hungry Ghost's "Don't Eat The Apricots" is one relentless pulsing disco groove, augmented by warm bass washes and plenty of dubby FX. Equally impressive is Coyote's expansive and gently heated rework of "Second" from International People's Gang, which drowns the melody in copious amounts of dubbed frequencies. Special mention is reserved for Thomas Bullocks' superlative Welcome Stranger dub of Rocha that fizzes with electronic drama.
