Agoria's InFine imprint indulges in a fascinating sonic experiment, with classically trained pianist Ben Klock - better known as the chiselled techno producer and resident at Berghain - remixing Luxembourgian pianist and electronic/classical composer Francesco Tristano's "Idiosynkrasia", the title track from his recently released album. Klock twists the original into a scorching minimalist roller, with computerised bleeps riding atop a scratchy mechanised rhythm designed to envelope your senses. Perlon and Circus Company affiliated producer Ark turns in a more direct remix of the same track, opting instead to cut and chop the bleeps n squeaks into a rolling groove replete with some nice piano flourishes. Flip over for the squelchy melodic thrust of Fumiya Tanaka's remix, with the revered Japanese producer brilliant melding a farty bassline with the most delicate of ivory tinkling.
