John Talabot & Pional, Photek, Martyn, Dan Carey and The Field assemble on this excellent 12" emission from Young Turks, remoulding tracks from Something, the third album from the Brooklyn based duo Chairlift. Talabot and Pional open proceedings, combining for a true El Clasico of a remix with their self styled "6.15 AM" rendition of "I Belong In Your Arms" which, save for a heavily warped vocal from Caroline Polachek, could easily be mistaken for a studio off cut from senor John's highly lauded LP fIN. The same track is remixed by UK veteran Photek, rewiring Caroline's wondrous delivery and the sinewy guitar riffs of Patrick Wimberly to a neck snapping jungle rhythm reminiscent of the Photek of old. Martyn goes ruff but sweet on "Sidewalk Safari", offering up a killer tempo change in response to Polachek's own surge in vocal drama, while Dan Carey's Dub version of the same track does what it says on the tin. Finally Axel Willner recalls his early work as The Field on a stunningly intricate dissection of "Met Before".
