Mountains Remixed CD

Hybrid Minds' Mountains album, released back in December 2012, was something of an overlooked gem - a soulful drum & bass opus that defined its creators as a new force in musically rich jungle. 12 months on, Spearhead deliver a remixed version, with a dizzying array of top-tier D&B talents - dBridge, Saxxon and BCee amongst them - stepping up to offer reworks. Wisely, most of the remixers choose to retain most of the expansive, sun-kissed elements from Hybrid Minds' original tracks (think dreamy vocals, shimmering chords, twinkling pianos and occasional strings), fixing them to a variety of floor-friendly drum and bass and dubstep rhythms. For the most part, it's a formula guarantees impressive results, with highlights including Total Science's rush inducing remix of "Forest" and DLR's fizzing reinterpretation of "Halcyon".
