"Microweight" |
From the opening strains of Blacksmif's "Hoop Dreams", it's obvious that Blacksmif slots quite nicely into the niche of post-garage producers experimenting with brighter textures and vocal samples. But there's something undeniably rich about his productions that single him out as someone who is considerably ahead of the competition, with the title track coming on like, more textured version of Jacques Greene's productions. "Microweight" meanwhile is a leaner affair, with dreamy drawn out chords that sneak up on you out of nowhere, and that seems to be sampled from a dusty jazz record.
