Elusive London duo Raime scuttle out from the shadows momentarily with their second release on the consistently bleak and consistently excellent Blackest Ever Black imprint. Adorned with typically ominous imagery, the duo's Hennail EP further refines all their musical influences into a potent double A Side of atmosphere piercing dystopia. Lead track "Told & Collapsed" aridly lollops into life, as Raime gradually flush the expansive, sinewy syncopation with a growing air of industrialised tension which creeps even further down your spine when the rpm is dropped to 33, especially when the echoed vocals arise and cascade around the channels. On the opposing side "You Will Lift Your Frame Clear", time seems to creep to a halt with strip searched post punk drums billowing under the weight of crunching bass and vocalised swerves of pressurised texture.
