Bill Kouligas and co. waste little time slipping into gear after another wide-ranging calendar year of records, with PAN regular Luke 'Helm' Younger at the helm (sorry) for the label's first record of 2014. Both Younger's Impossible Symmetry and Silencer releases for PAN over the last few years have provided some of the label's bleakest soundscapes, combining skeletal rhythmic clutter with scorched earth textures. A departure from this sound is signalled with The Hollow Organ, which features four productions that Younger was inspired to lay down as a reaction to his own live performances. PAN Say it better than us in describing this quartet as "an increasingly squalid and visceral palette of anguished machine voices, sub-zero drones and bone-scraped rhythmic noise to divine unearthly space somewhere between semi-legal horror soundtrack and hyperstitious surreality."
