Recorded just three years after Johnny Cash startled the wardens at Folsom Prison, convict Reynard Birtha was given a rare chance to head an ensemble and record this unique four track LP. Released privately it saw a stupendously limited release - until Jazzman came along and did what they do best. Long, drawn out jazz jams, allowing each of the imprisoned instrumentalists to shine, it's a curious blend of tight funk and spiralling grooves. And the story behind the creation of the album is really interesting too...
