A highly distinguished long player from Nottingham based duo Coyote, who have carved their own inimitable sonic niche following a succession of fine EPs (and one previous album, 2009's Harlyn Bay) on their Is It Balearic? Imprint alongside the odd dalliance with International Feel. Importantly, their second album, Half Man Half Coyote, never drowns in a sea of sameness, largely thanks to a nice variety of instrumentation, tempos and vocalists. Alongside each slice of instrumental bliss, there's the melodic hip-hop of "Safari Man" and woozy horizontal charm of spoken word opener "Keep Breathing". Clearly an album with its heart in the White Isle - all you have to do is close your eyes, listen, and you'll be there too.
