After some seriously under-rated releases for International Feel and Beats In Space in recent times, Japanese techno artist Sunao Gonno aligns with Endless Flight for a 12" that precedes a mouth watering album for the label. Described quite tongue in cheek as "right in the apex of Japan's Balearic gabba scene" by Endless Flight, Gonno's clear skills for blending trance inducing textures with some rugged rhythms is in full effect here with A side track "Stop" sounding like an unholy union of Theo Parrish's drunken drums and Holden's 6am trance outs. "Across The Sadness" offers some respite and truly lives up to its title as Gonno lays down all manner of doleful synth sequences amidst shoe gazey guitar, strings, and bristling percussion.
