Fusing the energy of garage with gothic pop songwriting, Ghosts are next up on Champion Sound to impart their crossover baiting message. There's no denying the energy worked into the rugged beat on "WLVS", while the vocals and melodics temper the rowdy bump of the drums into a more contemplative end result seemingly aimed at explicitly depicting what Burial's music has always implied. "Escort Service" is further out into leftfield with a dynamic and bugging beat that swerves any attempt to lock onto it, while the tart synth hook seems lifted from the brazen vaults of grime. "The City" is more concerned with haunting atmospherics and lingering drones in search of a more overtly downtempo end, and "Not Now My Love" rounds the EP off with yet more of that regal grandeur atop crisp, propulsive rhythms.
