"Galactic Alignment" (Slammapella mix) |
Transmitting Sound Signals To Your Galaxy is the phrase that greets you on the website for Jump Chico Slamm, the superbly monikered Jack alias of Chicago vocalist Faustin Lenon. Under the name, Lenon was responsible for Slamm Project, an EP of four Cajual funkers back in the early nineties before moving on to work on other musical projects. Typically, Rush Hour were working towards reissuing "Feel Free" from that aforementioned Cajual release when they stumbled across an unreleased Chico Slammer in the shape of "Galactic Alignment". Despite the fact the track's been lying in DAT tape dormancy for years, it still sounds totally fresh today - particularly the caked in bug powder dust A Side Sound Signal Mix that does the cosmic intentions of its title full justice.
