It's about time we hailed Sweden as the new home for elusive dub techno icons. The ever mysterious Skudge collective have been scaring dancefloors with some absolutely thumping releases in 2010 and they are now joined by the equally search engine shy MRSK, who debut with this killer two track drop for Rush Hour. "Black Keith" sets the tone with a heavy jacking groove forming the backbone to scoops of sub bass and an excellent flourish of disco strings. "Close To Me" is not a dub techno cover of The Cure thankfully, instead a vintage deep Detroit number replete with haunting synth repetition, clanking metallic patterns and eerie vocal refrains. Big release.
