With some excellent releases already scored from the likes of $tinkworx and Alex Israel, W.T. Records continue their strong run of leftfield techno with this EP from Shawn O'Sullivan. There's high drama to be found in all four tracks, where a multitude of different rhythms do battle with cavernous synths. "Free Flight" is particularly seductive, with the sole beat coming from a persistent yet submerged hat in the midst of vast pools of tones. Elsewhere there's a touch more rhythm at work, such as the whispers of electro funk found lurking in the groove of "Unarmed", but by and large this EP excels away from the dance.
