Having debuted on Not Not Fun last year with his third LP Music For The Tactile Dome, West Coast synth boffin Jonas Reinhardt now turns out on Amanda Brown's other label concern 100% Silk. Given the floor centric angle of 100% Silk it's little surprise to see Reinhardt introduce a tad more vim and vigour into the four tracks on the Foam Fangs EP than the more spacious and laid back cosmic fare he is known for. This much is evident from the rich spiralling sensations that run through the opening title track as a driving 4/4 beat - which is 50% motorik and 50% jacking -is the foundation upon which Reinhardt throws down a relentless flurry of fuzzed out kaleidoscopic synth flourishes. This template is then approached on various angles on the subsequent tracks with the dubby "Soak" complemented by the slippery Giallo techno of "Auto Grift" and the widescreen forest jack of "Hot Black Mastic" which Legowelt fans will love.
