Given his legendary status, it's something of a surprise to find that this is DJ Sneak's first contribution to the Fabric's long-running mix series. Thankfully, it finds him in good form, mixing up bumpin', energetic house in his usual groovy, snare-heavy style. As ever, there's a devilish swing to the beats and a relentless energy that almost impossible to dislike. It has the feel of a sweaty session in a darkened basement, as a succession of fuzzy, ultra-percussive jams and old-skool flavoured bumpers whizz past in the blink of an eye. Straight-up house mixes can easily flag towards the end, but Sneak's style and track selection - the inclusion of a recent version of Sir James' NY house classic "Special" is a nice touch - will keep you transfixed throughout
