El Diablo's Social Club is rightfully regarded as the natural successor to Electric Chair's throne of clubbing king of Manchester. Long term resident Neil Diablo takes a step up the disco beard ladder with his first official edits. Coming on a lovely hand sprayed vinyl and cover displaying the ghoulish El Diablo's logo, the two tracks here act as a sonic example of what to expect should you step foot in the Deaf Institute on the first Saturday of every month. Cerrone's "Hooked On You" gets reworked on the A Side, a liberal dose of .toughening up' added to the groove, whilst the track is expanded for maximum WOW when Jocelyn Brown's distinctive vocal drops in. The tropical delight of Billy Ocean's "Stay The Night" on the other side is every bit as good, the tight sinewy bassline and satisfying percussive bump that runs throughout balanced with plenty of excellent vocal chopping.
