The name Mukatsuku originates from the name of the infamous Japanese themed club night that started in 96 at the tiny Clinic club in London. In 2001 Mukatsuku started as a promotion company promoting nu jazz and broken beats. The aim of this label, headed by Nik Weston, is to showcase unsigned talent and bring it to a wider audience. Paul MacInnes was born in Liverpool to a Swedish mother and an American father, spending his early teens in Liverpool before relocating to Gothenburg, Sweden. Paul's super soulful vocal tones have been likened to Bilal and his live shows have been quoted as 'simply awesome'.
