The first collaborative release between London artist Shelley Parker and Emptyset member Paul Purgas, Dual Capacity is an immersive trio of productions that strike an interesting middle ground between the immersion of soundsystem culture and intricate field recordings and sound art. Supposedly exploring the potential for "dense rigid percussive structures to operate as a framework for non-grid based electronics", the three tracks display a ritualistic, funereal approach to rhythm, contrasting with the lively, cascading waveforms that swarm around their regular pulse.
