Queens-based producer Brian Pinyero brings his DJ Wey project to Entro Senestre's BANK Records NYC with this fine 12" Song For Masahiro. Last seen moonlighting as DJ Python on 'NYC's first deep reggaeton single' for Proibito, Pinyero is clearly a producer with great range as this three-track single ably proves. The centre piece is the title track, named in honour of former NYC resident Masahiro Ueda, "a DJ and friend who graced the BK scene by way of Japan" and was responsible for the Down & Low parties. "Song For Masahiro" belongs in the canon of dreamy evocative house music that New York seems to have pioneered of late - think Entro's "Rosegold" or Anthony Naples TTT burner "Busy Signal". Complementing this, "Flow On" is a smeary amalgamation of chaotic dusty cabinet kicks, piercing synths and soft focus keys, whilst "Blue" veers off into a subaqueous electro galaxy. A fine 12" from an emergent producer you should really pay attention to.
