"A DJ Is Not A Jukebox": Sentiments every DJ can relate to, as expressed in the title of Warson's debut LP for Tru Funk. Mixing boogie-disco vibes with breakbeat production, Warson drops 17 gems including the old-school, '80s NYC vibes of the title tune, the Labelle-assisted "Ghetto Sisters", the dancehall power of "Go Girl" and the power-ballad refix "Banger Joint". Altogether, this is a hugely fun and frantic party-starter of a debut.
