This one's been a long time coming! Glasgow label All Caps return with a fourth release that signals a broadening of focus, taking on an archival approach with a collection of "techno recovered from the depths of the '90s" from the unheralded Welsh producer DJ Guy. This might seem strange for a label that has made it's name proffering forward thinking grime influenced techno from the likes of Alex Coulton, Helix and Kowton but to quote WT Records, when did following the rules become more important than doing the right thing? 20 / 81 / 05 shines the light on unheralded Cardiff-based producer Guy Evans, drawing three tracks from his vast archives of unreleased material recorded to tape in the 1990s. If you've locked into the Hessle Audio Rinse show or caught a Ben UFO DJ set over the past few months you'll recognise at least one of the tracks here with the cathedralic techno of "81" particularly mind bending.
