Yet another sought after reissue from US label Killer Funk with two relatively obscure bands from Hawaii the object of their affection this time round. Brass Eruption and Explosive Matter hail from the two islands of Kilauea and Mauna Loa respectively, both of which have active volcanoes located on the Pacific tectonic plate. Both tracks presented here were recorded in the mid to late 1970s, with the moog heavy "Disco Daddy" and "It's Lava Time" fusing elements of funk, jazz and heavy disco b lines to great effect. The original version of "Lava Time" stretched on for 13 minutes so Killer Funk bring you an unreleased edit version which skips the countless solos and goes for a more immediate approach, aiming straight at the jugular of your packed dancefloor.
