This four-tracker from Ireland's Fish Go Deep is something of a revelation. While their most recent releases have tended to be on the more upbeat side - big room deep house with easily identifiable hooks - Deep Like dives headfirst into the deeper side of the genre, with a pleasing emphasis on analogue beats, synths and instrumentation. The title track is a doozy, coming on like a lost Nu Groove classic with just enough contemporary oomph to keep modern dancefloors happy. "Dub Model" continues in this vein, throwing some warped 808 cowbells into the dubby, Rhodes-heavy pot to excellent effect.
