Described by the Irish producer Detboi as being the result of "a demo-based soundtrack to cut up videos which has now been turned into a nine track LP", Darkside appears on Herve's Deep Thrills this week with some truly menacing and dark beats, including the dubby-jack of the title-tune, the dubstep-esque beat scramble of "Stay With Me" and the old-school garage punch of "Give It Up". Crafting a sound that's both minimal yet thoroughly rude, Detboi really comes into his own on this highly recommended release.
