There's always been something of the 'no-nonsense' about Klute's Commercial Suicide label - not just musically but in its overall approach. That straightforward, no-frills attitude is much in evidence on the plainly titled Commercial Suicide Compilation, a collection of new and unreleased cuts released around the tenth anniversary of the London-based imprint. Musically, there's plenty of windswept, salt of the earth fare from the likes of Mindscape, Gridlock and Break, alongside more cutely constructed, melody-driven material from Nymfo & State Of Mind, SPY and, of course, Klute himself. Even the price - a handy L6.99 - screams 'rock steady'!
