Equinox (Henrik Schwarz remixes) (reissue) vinyl

Code 718's "Equinox", a 1992 release on Strictly Rhythm, is one of Danny Tenaglia's best-loved early productions. While it included a few nods to what would later become his trademark muscular house style - bold, chunky bass and restless synth stabs - "Equinox" was a straight-up slice of dreamy deep house perfection. 25 years after it first surfaced, Strictly Rhythm has asked Henrik Schwarz to remix it. Ironically, his A-side interpretation - an hypnotic fusion of minimalist house percussion, looped synth riffs and fluid piano solos - feels a little closer to the trademark Tenaglia sound (albeit minus the ludicrously sweaty drums) than the New York maestro's original version. For those searching for an altogether deeper and more cosmic rework, the B-side dub ticks all the right boxes.
