Ministry Of SoundAs the title suggests, Chilled Electronic 80s is a laidback, three-disc trawl through the decade of synth-pop, Scargill and silly haircuts. Packed with familiar - but for the most part, fine - cuts, it effortlessly joins the dots between the criminally overlooked (Pet Shop Boys' "Love Comes Quickly" flopped on its' initial 1986 release, but remains one of the iconic duo's sweetest songs), the anthem-like (OMD's Balearic classic "Souvenir"), and the much-played (Visage's "Fade To Grey", The Cure's "Lullaby", Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill"). Ministry of Sound's licensing team deserve extra plaudits for including Vangelis' "Theme From Blade Runner" and Art of Noise's "Moments In Love", which is still capable of sending shivers down the spine.
