Review |

Following his success as the mastermind behind the well-regarded Sally Shapiro album, it was only a matter of time before Swedish Euro-pop revivalist Johan Agebjorn released a solo full-length. While Casablanca Nights is perhaps not technically a solo album - it is largely made-up of collaborations with various vocalists and producers such as Wolfram and CFCF - it bears all of Agebjorn distinct production trademarks. So, we get oodles of soft-focus Italo-influenced synth-poppery, 80s Eurovision chic, some touchy-feely business (including a lovely 'all-star' collaboration with Legowelt and Wolfram), a touch of ambience and a Behaviour-era Pet Shop Boys style tribute to Erik Satie ("Memories of Satie").
