Legendary New York jock Timmy Regisford has long championed the sound of soulful house, taking immense pride in playing and producing meaningful, emotive songs ahead of functional tracks. As such, each of the 13 songs that appear on the At The Club album are fronted by a vocalist, with Arnold Jarvis, Kenny Bobien and Fela Kuti among those involved with the project. It's the two appearances by the inimitable Kuti - namely "Sorrow, Tears & Blood" and "Beats Of No Nation" - that are the favourites here at Juno HQ, with the sultry tones of "Someone Like You" featuring Lynn Lockarmy not far behind. With Regisford's much loved Shelter club in NYC set to relaunch next month, the timing of this release couldn't be any better.
