Sling & Samo's Born Free imprint has grown steadily through the ranks over the last few years, and the duo have release an impressive amount of music from new and exciting talent from around the globe. It feels like 2016 is a year where the label's profile will grow further with new material due from the excellent Powder among other exciting new talents. One of which is Assar, described by Born Free as "22 year-old Stockholm loner Assar Jansson", whose Pant 12" is a debut by our reckoning and a fine one at that! Assar's "Pant" is a steady, progressive kind of techno churner with plenty of soul and harmony. The B-side sees Samo DJ's fledgling Four Legs partnership with Elias Skudge deliver their first remix, taking "Pant" to a more hard-faced place that loses some of Assar's looseness but still contains enough hypnotics to render it accessible to the starry-eyed bedroom DJ.
