Given how this twelve inch unfolds we like to think the mysterious Jitterbug doesn't even think about the prospect of releasing music until he's exhausted every last drop of rawness and sickness from the array of machinery upon which it is made. The fact the Arcane Theory EP is the first Jitterbug material since 2010 would support this theory. "Rise Of The Machines" seems an all too apt title for a track that sounds like the relentless march of a giant robotic army crushing through major cities in a manner akin to kids frenetically destroying a huge roll of bubble wrap. Alongside it, "Fallout" provides a moment of relative serenity and calm, though the dusty drums dominate in a manner similar to some of Aroy Dee's best work. "Nomads" has the run of the B Side and uses it wisely on a widescreen jam that is part abstract, part lysergic, part unhinged and wholly awesome.
