To call Dutch producer Aardvarck "prolific" would be an understatement. He's released a whopping eight albums since 2002 alone, each with its own distinct vision. This time round, his key concern is atmosphere, turning in a sprawling but wildly entertaining set that variously touches on smacked-out dub, twisted Afro-electro, IDM, electronica, eerie ambience, eccentric break core and scratchy techno. Despite the vast and unruly tracklist - some tracks are little more than short sketches - Anti-Concept actually makes perfect sonic sense. At times, it sounds like it was inspired by late night walks through vast, empty multi-storey car-parks, at others like the imaginings of a blissed-out insomniac. Throughout, it remains thoroughly engaging.
