Kontra-Musik has played host to some stunning releases since its inception, always championing funky and meaningful variations of techno. Rivet meanwhile is emerging on the radar with his highly-charged wares that take a very direct approach in getting the body moving. The grooves are tough without being exhausting, while the melodic elements tend to lurk in the background to chill rather than distract. While it may be somewhat industrial and dubby, "Metrist" still comes on like a peak-time party rocker of the highest order, while Marcel Fengler's remix ups the intensity to work in a more tracky context. Highly recommended.
