When Foundation X launched the mysterious Amenizer series last summer, it was designed as an outlet for retro-futurist jungle rinse-outs built around the infamous "Amen" breakbeat. Like the series first 12", this second volume boasts untitled, un-credited tracks that are rumoured to be the work of some well-known D&B big hitters. "A" doffs a cap to the bass-heavy UK styles that came before jungle - namely bleep and hardcore - via brilliantly cut-up Amen breaks, alien melody lines, surging sub-bass and cheeky vinyl rewinds. "B" is a slightly deeper, dub-tinged junglist roller, while "C" delves into the world of early ragga jungle to devastating effect. It's an unashamed blast from the past, but there's nothing wrong with that.
