You can tell that African producer The Black Madonna has a passion for soulful, disco rooted house music, and now on this release for Hometaping, he has the chance to express it further. "Alright This Morning" feeds off an overloaded loop, where nervous piano, sustained strings and a militaristic kind of percussion keep the pressure up high, only accentuated by the choice of bluesy vocals. Nicholas steps in for the remix, rounding out some of the edges into a deeper house stew, although he retains much of the intricacy of the rhythm section.
