Swedish imprint Force Majeure look to the seedy discotheques of London for their fifth vinyl release - snapping up the debut sounds of Night Angles. Possibly known to nefarious dwellers of the capital's dingier dens as T-Tips or Gegenschein, Night Angles is the new work of producer Tim Eve - fully channelling the spirit of Berlin era Bowie, Moroder, Krawtwerk and Vangelis and even veering towards early Chicago house. Together this mixture of influences forms a potent proposition for the more discerning dancefloors with the title track "Aerodynamour" perhaps the most obvious nod towards the Thin White Duke. Alongside it is "Space Lines" - all reverberant synths and jagged basslines reminiscent of The Emperor Machine at their finest. With its raw, stripped down drum machine pump "Sphere" looks to Trax for inspiration, though the guttural bass and bubbling synth patterns mean this is no throwback house pastiche and instead is just one example of a release filled with musical excellence.
