The ADE has become one of the most important dates in the international electronic music diary, and if this compilation is anything to go on, it taps into the current musical climate. Sampler contains more than its fair share of loppy house and tribal workouts - contributions from Gabriel Ben and Lee Picton's insane whooshing stand out - but it's the interpretations of classic sounds that really impress the most. Greg Fenton's "Revolver" is a chugging techno groove, its heavy beats underscoring a massive air raid siren. Mark Holmes's dub remix of Tuunee's "I'll be (right there)" is even more intense, with widescreen chords and a massive Resse-style bassline combining for an epic slice of dramatic techno.
