Having established his own Basic Grooves imprint with a trio of sultry New Jersey influenced house releases, Shane Linehan hands the fourth release over to up and coming French producer Janeret. "Hard Deep" goes even, ahem, deeper that Linehan's efforts for the label, combining a slamming mid-tempo kick drum with crisp and cavernous dub piano chords and the subtlest of organ riffs, making a nice contrast to the more upbeat styles of Linehan. On the flip, Linehan delivers his own version of track which ups the tempo and offers a ravey, pitched take on the original's simple one chord piano line, complete with bristling hi-hats and warm pad breakdown.
