The long-serving Canadian electronic group Psyche are hardly a household name, but then anything picked out by Optimo is going to be something of a secret weapon. It's worth noting that of the four tracks for this reissue, it's only the "21st Century Immortality Mix" that isn't utterly brilliant, not least compared to the searing, industrial synth-pop strangeness of "Prisoner of Desire". The foresight of "Contourting The Image" is undeniable as a supple electro concoction worms its way through floor-killing funk injected with that essential dose of sci-fi. While the production is naturally rough around the edges, consider this a very worthy introduction to a hidden treasure. Highly recommended.
