Lukas Kozelka has been beavering away on the margins of the drum & bass scene for sometime, quietly building a reputation as a purveyor of trustworthy, floor-filling beats. Here he unveils his debut album, an expansive set of home stereo friendly club bangers. Wisely, he's chosen to pepper the album with smart and upbeat collaborations with vocalist Lady Katee. It's these, most notably the string-laden "Never Give Up", moody "Dark Skies" and Hospital-ish "Where Do I Begin", that really make the album. That's not to say that Axiom's instrumental moments are sub-standard far from it, in fact but their moody paranoia packs more punch when accompanied by such well-constructed sweetness.
